Grace is a non-denominational church, yet we are teathered to a set of doctrinal beliefs. Below is a set of these basic tenents that we ask our members to affirm.
About God:
We believe in one God, Creator and Sustainer of all things, sovereign and supreme, existing eternally as three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit with each person being fully God.
About Man:
We believe that man was created in the image of God to glorify Him by enjoying Him forever.
About Sin:
Sin is any act or attitude that is contrary to God’s moral law, whether conscious or unconscious. We believe that through the fall of man, sin entered the world and man is now born into sin. This sin separates man from his holy Creator.
About Jesus Christ:
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, both fully God and fully man in one person, King of kings and Lord of lords. He was born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, suffered at the hands of earthly authorities, was obedient to His Father even unto death on a cross, and was raised from the dead on the third day thus proving He is Lord and Christ. After forty days, He ascended into heaven where He sits at the right hand of God making intercession on our behalf.
About Salvation:
We believe that sinners are saved by sovereign grace through the life, death, and resurrection of Christ by which He accomplished redemption, forgiveness of sins, renewal of life, and life everlasting for His people. This salvation is received by grace through the gift of faith so that no man can boast.
About the Holy Spirit:
We believe in the deity and personhood of the Holy Spirit who convicts the world concerning sin, righteousness, and judgment. He is sent to indwell the believer, provides power for righteous living, equips people for service in the church, and guides into truth. He is the deposit guaranteeing our inheritance to come.
About the Church:
We believe in the one, holy, universal Church which is the community of all God’s elect for all time. The Church has been commissioned to be a light unto the world and to make disciples among all the nations. We recognize the abiding significance of the sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit, which will be used in service of the Church until the Lord returns.
About Scripture:
We believe that the canon of the Old and New Testaments is the authoritative standard for the faith and practice of the Church. All Scripture is inspired by God. It is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness.
About Christ's Return:
We believe Christ is coming again to judge the living and the dead. The righteous shall receive fullness of life and joy and will be raised up and given a body conformable to Christ’s glorious body and shall live forever. Those who do not believe will receive everlasting punishment apart from Him in hell.
